As a church we are committed to our work in Haywards Heath, believing that this is the mission field in which God has placed us. However, we are aware of those working in other parts of the world, and seek to support some aspects of this work as we are able.

Paul and Sally Gilbert are members of HHBC who followed the call of the Lord to work with SIM in Malawi a number of years ago. After serving there, they moved to the southern Africa regional office in Johannesburg. Paul now works as SIM's director of finance, and they live and work in the less exotic surroundings of Suffolk.

Shephen and Caitlin Mbewe and their three girls, Nyasha, Kudzai and Tatenda live and work in the village of Marromeu in Mozambique. They were called there several years ago, and work with Youth With a Mission, or YWAM.

As members of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, we also support the work of the Baptist Missionary Society, or BMS, supporting a number of link workers over the years.
Some of these folk work in extremely difficult parts of the world, where following the Lord Jesus Christ is very hard, and opposition and persecution is a daily reality. We cannot refer to the work these amazing people do on this web-site, but we would be happy to talk to anyone who is looking to support them.

Each year, we also work with the Link Romania charity, as they seek to work via the Shoebox Appeal with needy families in some of the poorer countries of eastern Europe. Most years we send over 100 shoeboxes containing small gifts for Christmas for families. Currently, apart from Romania, this charity works with families in Moldova and Ukraine.
Home mission is another area of mission which we give to, although it's a little closer to home! You can also access the quarterly edition of Baptist Life (the BUGB Home Mission magazine) on-line.
